SOS Fund - Save our Sisters

An Emergency fund established to help women and their children in transition from the abused women’s shelter to their own place. It was extended to include any woman in a crisis situation in Durham Region. It is a one time, interest free loan for up to a maximum amount of $500.00. The loan will be considered as paid in full upon the recipeint performing 10 hours of community service with a registered charity. A letter from the Executive Director of the chosen charity confirming that the recipient completed the required 10 hours of service will close the file. A Special Committee will determine if an applicant qualifies for the interest free loan. To date we have raised over $3000 for the fund.
