We are very pleased to introduce our Member Advisory Council. The council will help you step outside your comfort zone, improve your business and build relationships in a non threatening environment. We listen to your needs and your challenges. We will help create real progress in your business and your life. Provide honest feedback, advice and brainstorming and postive peer support. Members receive a shared sense of endeavour and help from other leaders.

We are very pleased to announce that the Ajax Pickering Board of trade has selected the Benefits for Women SOS Fund for their charity donation at their upcoming Regional Chair Address March 23/2009.
February 2009
February began our open Forums. They have been well received by the members. This has given them a chance to discuss business issues in a non threatening environment and walk away with grat advice. Forums now continue twice monthly.
January 2009
With one of the worst snow storms of the year, over 80 men and women came out to hear Patricia Lovett-Reid of TD Waterhouse speak. It was a great evening and thanks to TD Canada Trust for co-hosting the event.

March 2008
Benefits for Women Keynote with Edward Henry was a great success.![]()
Over 80 men and women were on hand to listen to Edward Henry speak on the Power of 24 Hours and deprogramming the state of poverty.![]()
He spoke with passion and conviction on his own personal struggles and the challenges that he has faced. Ed talked about his past beliefs of what success was to only discover that he was still in a state of poverty until he wrote the book.
He spoke about the Power of 24 Hours workshops and the students at the Sales Institute of Canada and what struggles they had gone through. How once they started using the Power of 24 Hours 5 step daily program that their lives changed and they became more successful.
He talked about the first step of personal discovery and how everyone struggles with it until they learn to let go and how important a promise statement is to creating the state of wealth.
At the end of the evening everyone was talking about the book and congratulating Ed on his keynote.

Proceed from the event were donated to the Literacy Council of Durham and Benefits for Women SOS Fund.

BENEFITS FOR WOMEN is pleased to announce the First Award winners from the Phenomenal Women Awards Dinner
The winners represent successful women entrepreneurs who deeply care for their community. They show the caring, by sharing their expertise, and time with many worthwhile charities and non-profits in the community of Durham.
The winners are: Kim Beatty of Beatty Inc, 10 yrs. In business. Winner of Director’s Award - Friends of Second March, Member of President’s Club 2 years in a row. Her chosen community service - President of BPW Durham, Editor of Eclipse Newsletter, March of Dimes - Annual Campaign for door-to-door donations.Sandra Cousins of PPL Legal Care of Canada 10 years in business. Founding member of PPL Legal Care of Canada, Clarington Board of Trade and Clarington Toastmasters Club. Her chosen community service - Founding member of the Durham Local Training Board, Creator of Encouraging Youth Entrepreneurs Program.
Joyce Marshall Small World Nursery School - 31 years in business - established 3 successfull (pre-school program) nursery schools. Former Board Chair of Durham College, has a bursary & scholarship named in her honour. Winner of Whitby Chamber of Commerce Peter Perry Award & winner of Premier Award to name a few. Community focus - President of VON Durham, Director of Big Sisters, Oshawa, Whitby, Newcastle.
Benefits for Women congratulates these women as the winners of the first Phenomenal Women Awards.

Benefits for Women just held their third annual Mother Daughter Fashion Tea May 6th. What a great turnout we had. We raised $1000 for the SOS fund through our silent auction and our new SOS Butterfly pin. Stay tuned for new pictures in our photogallery.

Benefits for Women has held two lunch and learns
Dealing with financial stress in February and April Selling for profit.
Each lunch and learn is an opportunity for women to network and meet other women.
November 2006
BFW was pleased to have launched the SOS Fund at the Anniversary/Christmas celebration. With the help of the Pickering Lions Club, the Pickering Carib-Canadian Cultural Association, Mayor David Ryan of the City of Pickering and everyone in attendance we were able to get the fund off to a good start.
We also held a fashion show with fashions sponsored by Laura Canada.
May 2006
Benefits for Women hosted a fashion show at Carruthers Creek Golf Centre featuring Nygard, Weekender Wear and Evening wear by LaBella Sposa.
Through the sponsorship of Nygard, Benefits for Women was able to donate three interview outfits to women nominated by Big Brothers and Sisters of Ajax and the Women�s Multicultural Resource & Counselling Centre of Durham.
